Microdermabrasion is a
skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a
beating from the sun and the effects of aging. The plastic surgeon uses
a device like a fine sandblaster to spray tiny crystals across the face,
mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of
skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one
treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted
pigmentation.
* A facial exfoliation
procedure in which the skin is "sandblasted" with ultra-fine crystals of
aluminum-oxide or other ingredients to remove the top layer of skin.
* a facial mini-peeling
or mini-sanding technique used to remove the top layers of skin using
either chemicals or abrasive agents such as diamond dust. This is
performed by an aesthetician to lessen the appearance of facial wrinkles
and improve the aging appearance of the skin. The results remain for
three to six weeks before it needs to be repeated.
* A technique using
tiny particles that pass through a vacuum tube which gently abrades the
skin surface, smoothing it and stimulating new cell growth.
The treatment is
suitable for a variety of conditions, including:
• Sun damaged skin
(including face, neck and shoulders).
• Age spots, age line
reduction.
• Acne, blackheads,
whiteheads, scarring.
• Hyper-pigmentation.
• Rough skin (elbows,
heels), oily skin.
• Maintaining overall
skin health.
• Can return to work, wear make-up same day.
• Must wear moisturizer
with 30 SPF and avoid sun exposure to protect skin.
• Typical course of
treatment is a series of 6-8 sessions initially to achieve optimal
results. Thereafter, maintenance treatments should be done every three
months. |
